Our Story

About Us

Gym Rox was founded by sisters Carly and Faye in January 2007 with a simple vision: to share their love of gymnastics and create a place where children could experience all the benefits this incredible sport has to offer.

What started as a single one-hour class on a Saturday morning has grown into a thriving gymnastics community. Nearly two decades later, Gym Rox has become much more than a club. From toddlers taking their very first steps in the gym to adults discovering, or rediscovering, a love of movement, we are proud to provide classes for people of all ages and abilities.

Our own gymnastics journey began many years earlier. Carly first started gymnastics at the age of seven after discovering a natural talent for figure skating and deciding to give gymnastics a try. A few years younger and eager to follow in her big sister's footsteps, Faye joined the gym at just four years old. Carly quickly became Faye's biggest role model, and together we trained throughout our childhood and into our mid-twenties.

We were incredibly fortunate to learn from world champion coaches who not only taught us how to perform gymnastics to a high standard but also inspired us as coaches and mentors. The values they instilled in us – dedication, resilience, encouragement and a genuine love for the sport – continue to shape everything we do at Gym Rox today.

We are immensely proud of our own achievements in gymnastics, but the greatest reward has been passing our passion on to others. As British Gymnastics says, gymnastics is more than just a sport. It is a community. It is a place where children can feel safe, build confidence, develop lifelong friendships and discover what they are capable of achieving.

What began as a small Saturday morning class has grown into our full-time careers and our life's work. We have dedicated ourselves to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every gymnast is celebrated, supported and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves.

As Gym Rox begins an exciting new chapter as a charity, our commitment remains the same as it was back in 2007: to ensure that as many people as possible can experience the joy, belonging and lifelong benefits that gymnastics can bring.

Plans for the future…..

As Gym Rox continues to grow, so do our ambitions for the future.

After almost 20 years of supporting children and families through gymnastics, Carly and Faye have decided to take the next step in our journey by establishing The Gym Rox Foundation. We have submitted our application to become a registered charity, with the aim of making gymnastics more accessible to those who may otherwise miss out on the opportunities and benefits that sport can provide.

We know that for many families, the cost of extracurricular activities can be difficult to manage. Through The Gym Rox Foundation, we hope to support children from disadvantaged and deprived communities, helping to remove financial barriers and ensuring that every child has the chance to experience the joy, confidence and sense of belonging that gymnastics can bring.

We are also passionate about creating opportunities for children and families who may face additional challenges. This includes expanding our support for children with Special Educational Needs, children from disabled families, and members of the deaf community, ensuring that our programmes are as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

The demand for Gym Rox continues to grow, and we are humbled that we currently have around 1,000 children on our waiting list, all hoping to join our classes. Looking ahead, we are exploring opportunities to open new classes in different locations so that we can welcome even more children into the Gym Rox family.

Our vision is simple: that no child should miss out on the chance to take part in gymnastics because of financial circumstances, disability or lack of local opportunities. We want to open our doors wider than ever before and give as many children as possible the opportunity to discover this incredible sport, build confidence, make friendships and realise their potential.

The future of Gym Rox is exciting, and we can't wait to see how many more lives we can positively impact through the power of gymnastics.
